Exhibitors Information:

MEASUREMENT CARDS AND AMATEUR CARDS MUST BE PRESENTED TO THE SHOW SECRETARY AS WELL AS NECESSARY ASSOCIATION NUMBERS AND SIGNATURES ON ALL ENTRY BLANKS, ACCOMPANIED BY AN OPEN CHECK, BEFORE ANY ENTRY WILL BE PROCESSED AND RIDER NUMBERS GIVEN OUT.

  1. Entries: Entries received and paid by June18, 2008 are considered preentries and will be accepted at regular fee. Send only blank signed checks, made payable to Middlesex County Horse Show, please. Do not fill in the amount! Scratch fee $20.00 per entry.
  2. Post Entries: Are subject to a $50.00 per horse office fee. Post entries will be accepted only if made at least one class in advance of the class. NO FAX OR TELEPHONE ENTRIES! Scratch fee is $25 per horse.
  3. Ponies: Any entry in any class restricted to ponies must present a measurement card or be measured prior to picking up a back number. This includes rated and unrated classes.
  4. Non Negotiable Checks: Will be subject to a $50 processing fee.
  5. Stabling: Only $150 for the entire show. Stalls are in permanent building with doors. Bedding is not included. Stalls need to be reservered by June 20th. Stall information call 908-534-2330.
  6. Dogs: Should be left at home! If you bring your dog it MUST be kept on a leash at all times. $50 pick up fee!
  7. Prize money: will be awarded 30 minutes after the class.
  8. Refunds: An office processing fee of $25 will be deducted from all refunded entries. No refunds on stalls for any reason.
  9. Management: Reserves the right to cancel, combine, or divide classes should the best interests of the show or the rules require it.
  10. Schooling: Will be permitted only in the hunter rings.
  11. Jump Order: WILL BE DETERMINED BY A DRAW.
  12. Questions: not covered by these rules shall be decided and interpreted by management whose decisions shall be final. Phone 908-534-2330.

Rules And Specifications:

Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF rule book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith.

  1. HUNTER CLASSES will be judged on performance and soundness. Any additional specifications will be noted.
  2. HUNTER CHAMPIONSHIPS will be awarded in accordance with USEF RULE XXIV, Article 2438.
  3. STABLING - All stalls will be on first come, first serve basis. Stalls must be reserved by the June 20th. All stabling must be paid in advance. NO REFUNDS.
  4. PRIZE MONEY will be awarded in the office. Checks must be cashed within 30 days or will not be
    honored.
  5. A computerized jumping order established pursuant to USEF JP 112.
  6. Hunter courses may include brush, coops, in and out, stone wall, log, gates, and will be posted at the
    in-gate at least one hour prior to each class.
  7. Jumper courses may include post and rail, gates, oxer, wall, panels coop, or any other combination of the above.
  8. COURSES AND FENCES. The Committee reserves the right to change the obstacles or vary the
    courses at their discretion.
  9. SCHOOLING will be permitted only in the areas provided by the committee and only over practice
    jumps therein.
  10. REFUNDS will be mailed 30 days after the show. A $25.00 processing fee per horse or equitation rider will be deducted from all refunded entries. PLEASE NOTE: Once a horse or rider has shown in any class, they are no longer eligible for a refund. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS ON STALLS for any
    reason.
  11. The committee reserves the right to cancel any class when in its judgement the entries are inadequate and to combine or divide any class or classes should the best interest of the show or the rules of the USEF require it.
  12. If necessary to meet time schedule requirements, show management reserves the right to limit the
    number of entries accepted in each division. (First come, first served basis.) Also reserved is the right to move the location of classes, and adjust the time schedule if in the opinion of management
    circumstances dictate such changes.
  13. Exhibitors are notified that any discourtesy or disobedience to the judges or Officials on the part of an owner, rider or groom shall disqualify the horse, and the owner shall forfeit his entry and other fees.
  14. Exhibitors must be in proper riding attire and wear approved protective headgear.
  15. Points toward annual NJPHA High Score Awards will be given only to the winners of a class who are members of the NJPHA. However, non-members may exhibit and place in any class.
  16. A processing fee of $50.00 will be made for all non-negotiable checks. Any returned checks not
    “made good” within 10 days will be forwarded to the USEF for collection per USEF Rule XV, Art.
    1508.
  17. Dogs must be leashed.
  18. Middlesex County Horse Show/Horse Park of New Jersey will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the
    Middlesex County Horse Show/Horse Park of New Jersey harmless for any illness, loss or accident
    which may occur by fire or otherwise.
  19. Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in
    the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind
    including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the
    competition grounds of recognized competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may
    operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a
    valid driver’s license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s),
    guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may
    include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds
    for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in
    accordance with Rule 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with
    disabilities are exempt from this rule.
  20. USEF NON-MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT Effective 4/1/07 – Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides provided the respective breed/discipline dues or breed/discipline category fee has been paid. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $20 nonmember registration fee and a $5 breed/discipline category fee for each breed/discipline. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions; 8) Opportunity classes. 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.

The Horse Park of New Jersey is located in the center of the state and is very easy to reach. Take Exit 7A off the New Jersey Turnpike. Go east on Route 195 to Exit 11. Turn left off the ramp, then at the stop sign, turn right onto Route 524 (east). The Horse Park is on your left, just 1.5 miles on Route 524.
